Happy new year alums! I wish everyone had a great 2007 and is having an excellent start to 2008. Personally I got to take some time off and did some traveling so it’s been a busy last few weeks. The new year is a perfect time for goal setting and reflection. I’ve got a few goals lined up for myself like eating healthy, exercise weekly, etc. But the most exciting must be my goals around this blog (okay not so exciting, but bare with me) As fellow alum Frank pointed out in one of his comments, it’s really not been a lot going on with this blog. So one of my goals this year is to come up with a blog post every week for this blog. I know this is a tall order to fulfill but I’ve got to take my best shot at it. I will also try to come up with ideas and topics asking for other bloggers to submit commentaries. Hopefully this will stir up some conversations. Also, if you are reading this and wish to write for the blog please contact me

Looking through the blog archives, this also marks our 1st anniversary! It’s amazing that it’s already been a year because it feels like we barely just got started. I think the blog is capable of doing so much more, but I’m happy with what we’re able to accomplish thus far. This is a place for alums to “hang out” or “stay in the loop” with what’s going on with ICS. We added a number of features that we think will help us build this community. Here are some of the main ones:

• Directory - Users profile will now be displayed in the directory. We even added the ability to host a photo. I encourage everyone to register and fill out your profile then upload a picture of yourself.
• Polls - We will occasionally put up surveys to get what the consensus is on a certain topic or question.
• Post Ratings - Happy or unhappy with what we are writing? Let us know our good posts as well as “not so hot” posts.

Now if we look at 2007 Bren:Alumni by the numbers:
