With the completion of another school year, Dean Debra J. Richardson sent this email last Friday updating alumni about the many successes the Bren School has achieved over the past academic year. Dear ICS Alum,
As we celebrate the recent commencement of the Class of 2008, we hope you’ll find pride in the many successes that the Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences has achieved in the past year and look forward to in the coming months:
- ICS conferred nearly 250 Doctorate, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees this June.
- Three world-class scholars will be joining the Bren School on July 1 as Bren Professors of ICS, along with another seven new faculty members.
- A new collaborative and interdisciplinary Business Information Management degree will be offered beginning this Fall.
- A new generation of aspiring information and computer scientists yielded 55% more undergraduate applications to our programs over last year.
As a graduate of ICS, you are an important part of our success.
